Diablo II | by Blizzard |
Many reports & rumors are beginning to float around about demons and
monsters being back in Tristram. You now travel back to Tristram to see what to make of
the many rumors & tales. Diablo II will have a much greater NPC system.
Depending on what decisions you make and how you treat some NPC's they may eventually
help, hinder or hurt you in your quest sometime later down the road. The difference of NPC
action based on your decisions can result in anything from the NPC joining your party and
helping you on your quest or by allowing your bloody carcass to get ripped to shreds by
the evil minions of the dark while they idly sit by and watch. Blizzard is also in the process of creating what every original Diablo - Battle.net player has always wanted, a cheating-free environment. If Blizzard is successful in this, Diablo II will be a game where players have to depend and rely on each other while playing a Battle.net game (a much anticipated & needed improvement). Blizzard is also placing a persistent economy into place that will have it's own market & value system for rare and unique items. These rare and unique items will be just that, items will be harder to find and a party may have to quest for them to attain them. As well as for selling your items, the persistent economy will also handle trading of items between players. As far as a release date Blizzard has given it's best estimate as the fourth quarter of 1999. Blizzard reasons that "We dont want to disappoint our customers by missing a date that simply cannot be precisely estimated at this point." Diablo II |
